Georgia legal community mourns loss of Judge Don Langham

Alpharetta-Roswell Herald

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Fulton County Superior Court Judge Don A. Langham after his passing at the age of 90.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1969, Judge Langham began his career in the legal department of Lockheed before joining the Georgia Office of the Attorney General as an assistant attorney general. He was appointed in 1981 as a judge on the Fulton County State Court and in 1985 as a judge on the Fulton County Superior Court, where he served for 20 years. After retiring from full-time duty, he served as a senior judge for the Superior Courts in numerous judicial circuits around the state.

In 2000, Judge Langham received the Logan E. Bleckley Distinguished Service Award from the Atlanta Bar Association.

Judge Don Langham’s exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
