Congratulations to new Fulton County Attorney Soo Jo

Daily Report

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Assistant U.S. Attorney Y. Soo Jo of the Northern District of Georgia on her selection and by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to serve as the new county attorney of Fulton County. She will succeed Patrise Perkins-Hooker, a past president of the State Bar of Georgia.

Ms. Jo will be well served in her new position by her 24 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including previous service as a staff attorney for the Fulton County Superior Court, Fulton County Attorney’s Office and Gwinnett County Magistrate Court, as a senior assistant city attorney for the City of Atlanta and, for the past three years, as an assistant U.S. attorney. In the private sector, she worked as Equal Employment Opportunity compliance manager for Home Depot and as associate to the special assistant attorney general for the Georgia Department of Human Resources.

By accepting this appointment, Ms. Jo demonstrates her continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish her well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
