The Cochran Journal

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of attorney Leo L. Phillips Jr. of Phillips & Phillips in Cochran after his passing at the age of 78.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1970, Mr. Phillips practiced law in his hometown for more than 50 years and served as attorney for the City of Cochran until his passing. Deeply rooted in the local community, he served in numerous positions of business and civic leadership.

Leo Phillips’ long and exemplary career is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
