Congratulations to new State Court Judge Richard Read

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Rockdale Judicial Circuit Senior Assistant District Attorney Richard R. Read on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a judge for the Rockdale County State Court.
Judge Read will be well served in his new position by his 34 years of experience in the legal profession, including prior service as district attorney and chief assistant district attorney for the Rockdale Circuit and in private law practice before his return to the district attorney’s office in 2018.
By accepting this appointment, Judge Read demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.
