To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Atlanta attorney Matthew H. “Matt” Patton after his passing at the age of 85.
A member of the Georgia Bar since 1963, Mr. Patton spent his entire legal career at the firm of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton in Atlanta. He represented the interests of many high-profile corporate clients as lead trial attorney. He served his profession as president of the Younger Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Georgia and for 36 years as a member of the State Bar’s Board of Governors.
Matt Patton’s long and exemplary career is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
