Letter to the Editor

Congratulations to Charlie Williams on recognition of service

Calhoun Times

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to longtime Calhoun attorney Charles M. “Charlie” Williams on the recent public recognition of his half-century-plus of service to the legal profession and residents of Gordon County.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1970, Mr. Williams continues his law practice today. In August, he will mark 52 years of professional service. In addition to his legal career, Mr. Williams served his country in the Air Force for a total of 21 years of active and reserve duty.

We also salute President Elinor Portivent and members of the Gordon County Bar Association for organizing the recognition event during court proceedings presided over by Judge Rosemary Greene and including remarks by retired Judge David K. Smith. We add our applause in honor of Charlie Williams’ service to the public and the justice system and wish him good health and continued success in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
