Georgia legal community mourns loss of Jones Webb

Gwinnett Daily Post, Lawrenceville

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime attorney Jones Webb of Lawrenceville after his passing at the age of 94.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1953, Mr. Webb practiced law for 69 years, retiring from Webb, Tanner & Powell at the age of 90. A dedicated leader in community service, he was honored as the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2002 and received the Salvation Army William Booth Award in 2014. He also served his country in the Navy Reserve, retiring at the rank of commander.

Jones Webb’s long and exemplary career of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the legal system in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
