Congratulations to new U.S. District Judge Victoria Calvert

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Victoria Marie Calvert of the Federal Defender Program Inc. in Atlanta on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
President Joe Biden nominated Judge Calvert last September at the recommendation of Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. She will be well served in her new position by her more than 16 years of experience in the legal profession, including the past 10 years as a staff attorney in the Federal Defender Program and previously in private practice with King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta.
By accepting this appointment, Judge Calvert demonstrates her continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish her well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.
