Judge Johnson Re-Elected to Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia 

Atlanta – Oconee Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge C. Michael Johnson of Eastman was re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 52,000-member State Bar of Georgia and was installed June 4.

Johnson will continue to serve in the Oconee Circuit, Post 1 seat on the board, representing Bleckley, Dodge, Montgomery, Pulaski, Telfair and Wheeler counties. He earned his law degree from the Mercer University Walter F. George Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1989. With nearly 25 years in private law practice before becoming judge, Johnson also previously served as a special assistant attorney general in the Oconee Circuit and as a Municipal Court judge for the cities of Eastman and Chauncey.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
