Congratulations to new Juvenile Court Judge Amber Sowers

To the Editor:

The State Bar of Georgia congratulates Hall County Chief Assistant Solicitor General Amber Redford Sowers on her appointment to serve as a judge of the Juvenile Courts of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, covering Dawson and Hall counties.

Judge Sowers, who was appointed by the Superior Court judges of the Northeastern Circuit, will be well served by her 17 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including the past 13 years as chief assistant solicitor general in Hall County. She has also served as chair of the Children’s Center for Hope & Healing board and the Northeastern Circuit Domestic Violence Task Force. 

Through her acceptance of this appointment, which is effective Jan. 1, 2023, Judge Sowers demonstrates her continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish her well in this position of judicial leadership.
