Georgia legal community mourns loss of Harriet Isenberg

Atlanta Jewish Times

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of attorney Harriet C. Isenberg of Isenberg & Hewitt, P.C., in Atlanta on her passing at the age of 75.

A Georgia Bar member since 1985, Ms. Isenberg served as general counsel of Globe Security, one of the world’s largest private security contractors. In 1989, she and her husband, Melvin Hewitt Jr., founded their law firm, where she practiced for nearly 35 years. She served the legal profession as a charter member and longtime chair of the Creditor’s Rights Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

An Atlanta native, she and her family were active members of Ahavath Achim Synagogue.

Harriet Isenberg will be missed and fondly remembered by her fellow members of Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate her career-long dedication and the many contributions she made through her service to the public and the justice system.

Sincerely,

J. Antonio “Tony” DelCampo
President, State Bar of Georgia
