Congratulations to new Court of Appeals Judge Wade Padgett

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to Columbia Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge J. Wade Padgett on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as a judge on the Court of Appeals of Georgia.
Judge Padgett will be well served by his 24 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including his prior service as a Superior Court judge for the Augusta Judicial Circuit before the creation of the Columbia Circuit. He previously served in private law practice and as chief judge for the Columbia County Magistrate Court. He is also chair of new judge training for the Georgia Council of Superior Court judges.
By accepting this appointment, Judge Padgett demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in this capacity of statewide judicial leadership.
