Letter to the Editor
The Champion, Decatur
To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Dunwoody resident and longtime Atlanta attorney L. Andrew “Andy” Immerman on his passing at the age of 71.
A Georgia Bar member since 1993, Mr. Immerman practiced tax law for 23 years with the Alston & Bird firm, having relocated to the Atlanta area after beginning his legal career in Philadelphia. A leader among his peers at the national and state levels, he was a past chair of the Committee on Taxation of the American Bar Association and served on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia’s Business Law Section. While serving as chair of the section’s Partnership and LLC Committee, he led the drafting of the most comprehensive set of amendments to the Georgia LLC Act in the law’s history.
Andy Immerman will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his career-long dedication and the many contributions he made through his service to the public and the justice system.
Sincerely,
J. Antonio “Tony” DelCampo
President, State Bar of Georgia
