Congratulations to DeKalb State Court appointees

The Champion, Decatur

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend congratulations to DeKalb County State Court Judge Charles E. Bailey and DeKalb County Associate Magistrate Court Judge Phyllis R. Williams on their recent appointments by Gov. Brian Kemp to DeKalb State Court judgeships.

In his new position on Division A of the DeKalb State Court, Judge Bailey will be well served by his 22 years of experience in the legal profession, including his service since 2022 as a judge in the DeKalb State Court Division B and previous service as a pro hac judge and as a part-time judge in the Decatur Municipal Court.

Joining the Division B bench of the DeKalb State Court, Judge Williams brings 29 years of legal experience, including more than 25 years as a trial attorney in private law practice. She has also served the community as a member of the South DeKalb YMCA Board of Directors and a graduate of Leadership DeKalb.

By accepting this appointment, Judge Bailey and Judge Williams demonstrate their continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish them well in this capacity of judicial leadership.

Sincerely,

J. Antonio “Tony” DelCampo
President, State Bar of Georgia
