To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to express congratulations and thanks to the local judges, other elected officials and attorneys who spearheaded the recent observance of Law Day 2017 at the Long County Courthouse.
The national theme for this year's celebration of Law Day is "The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy," which commemorates the amendment's citizenship, due process and equal protection clauses in our Constitution, thus advancing the rights of all Americans.
The program featured keynote remarks from U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, and other participants included Long County State Court Judge Jeffrey L. Arnold, Probate Judge Bobby Smith, Clerk of Courts Sherry M. Long, Sheriff Craig Nobles, Commission Chairman Mike Riddle and Commissioner Willie Thompson.
We commend our colleagues and other officials in Long County for a most successful observance of Law Day, which helps make the public aware of the importance and value of our justice system.
Sincerely,
Brian D. "Buck" Rogers
President, State Bar of
Georgia
