To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime attorney and former Camden County Magistrate Court Judge Edward W. “Buck” Clary after his passing July 8.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1977, Mr. Clary practiced law in Georgia and in Nuremberg, Germany, where he represented U.S. military service members in civilian courts. He returned to Georgia in 1987 and practiced criminal law in St. Marys, later serving as a Magistrate Court judge for Camden County. He also served his country as a decorated Army veteran of the Vietnam War and his community as a past president of the Kings Bay Rotary Club.

Buck Clary’s exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all members of the legal profession. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
