To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Judge Brian M. Rickman on his installation as chief judge of the Court of Appeals of Georgia.

Chief Judge Rickman will be well served in his new position by his 20 years of experience in the legal profession, including the past six years as a judge on the Court of Appeals. A dedicated public servant and leader in the justice system, Judge Rickman began his career in private practice in Rabun County later served as district attorney for the Mountain Judicial Circuit.

Our gratitude also goes to outgoing Chief Judge Christopher J. McFadden for his outstanding leadership over the past two years. The State Bar of Georgia enjoys a strong working relationship with the Court of Appeals in our joint mission of serving the public and the justice system, which we look forward to continuing under the leadership of Chief Judge Rickman.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
