Georgia legal community mourns loss of Samuel Maguire

To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Augusta attorney and community leader Samuel F. Maguire after his passing at the age of 81.
A member of the Georgia Bar since 1962, Mr. Maguire was actively engaged in the practice of law in Augusta for more than 50 years, serving as an attorney for the City of Augusta for 10 years in addition to his private law practice. He was also involved in numerous avenues of community service and served his country as an Army veteran.
Samuel Maguire’s long and exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
