The Champion, Decatur

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to attorneys Charles E. Bailey and Ana Maria Martinez on their appointments by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as judges for the DeKalb County State Court.

Judge Bailey will be well served in his new position by his nearly two decades of experience in the legal profession, including his solo law practice in Decatur since 2010. He has also served as a Decatur Municipal Court judge and as a substitute judge for the DeKalb State Court’s Traffic Division since 2016.

Judge Martinez brings more than 12 years of legal experience to her new position, including the past eight years as a staff attorney for the DeKalb State Court. She has served in numerous capacities of professional leadership, including her current service as president of the Latino Law Foundation.

By accepting these appointments, Judge Bailey and Judge Martinez demonstrate their commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish them well in their new positions.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
