The Toccoa Record

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of retired Mountain Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Robert B. Struble Sr. of Toccoa after his passing at the age of 90.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1954, Judge Struble began his legal career as a partner with the McClure, Ramsay, Struble & Dickerson firm for many years before his 40-year tenure as a Superior Court judge. A leader among his peers, Judge Struble served as president of the Georgia Council of Superior Court judges, chair of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education, president of his local and circuit bar associations, president of the University of Georgia Law School Alumni Association, president of the City Attorneys Section of the Georgia Municipal Association and as a member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia.

Judge Struble also served his community as president of the Toccoa Rotary Club and the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce and chair of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and Stephens County United Fund and his country as a veteran of the Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps.

Judge Robert Struble’s long and exemplary career of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers and judges. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the legal system in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
