Martin Valbuena Re-Elected to Executive Committee and Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia

Atlanta – Martin E. Valbuena of Martin Enrique Valbuena P.C. in Dallas was re-elected to the Executive Committee and the Board of Governors of the 52,000-member State Bar of Georgia and was installed June 4 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Valbuena will continue to serve in the Paulding Judicial Circuit seat on the Board of Governors. He earned his law degree from the Washington College of Law at American University and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1995. His law practice is focused in the areas of family law and personal injury. He has served on the Board of Governors since 2004, chairs the State Bar’s Programs Committee and is a member of the Finance and Indigent Defense committees. 

He has also served 20 years as chief magistrate of the Paulding County Magistrate Court. He previously served as Municipal Court judge for the city of Hiram.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.

The board elects six of its members to serve on the State Bar’s Executive Committee with the organization’s officers. The Executive Committee meets monthly and exercises the power of the Board of Governors when the board is not in session.
