2023 YLD Secretary Runoff
According to Article VII, Section 12. Run-off, “If no candidate for office receives a majority of the votes cast or if there is a tie vote for a circuit post, within ten days from the date of the report of the Elections Committee, the Board of Governors shall make provisions for a runoff election between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes or all tied candidates. The runoff election shall be held no later than thirty days from the date of the report of the Elections Committee and shall be conducted as provided for regular elections. The incumbent shall continue to serve until the successor is determined. In run-off elections, members of the Board shall be elected by plurality vote.”
The election of the office of YLD Secretary has resulted in a runoff between Carlos Andres Fernández and Virginia Candace Josey. The runoff election will be held May 8-19, and the results will be announced by May 26. Only members of the YLD are eligible to vote in the runoff and will receive more information via email.
