Charles Ruffin of Macon Installed as President-Elect of State Bar of Georgia

Savannah – Charles L. Ruffin of Macon was installed as president-elect of the 43,000-member State Bar of Georgia on June 2 during the organization’s annual meeting. He will be sworn in as the 51st president of the State Bar in June 2013.

Ruffin is a shareholder in the Georgia law offices of Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C., located in Atlanta and Macon. He will be preparing for his year as president having completed two years as treasurer of the Bar.

Ruffin is founding chairman of the State Bar’s Eminent Domain Section and has also served as chairman of the Military Legal Assistance Committee since its inception. A past president of the Macon Bar Association, he has also served on the State Bar’s Board of Governors and Executive Committee.

Ruffin concentrates his practice in eminent domain and condemnation law. He is a graduate of Auburn University and the Emory University Law School and was admitted to the State Bar in 1981.
